PIP claim and evidence

Can the PIP helpline advisor when you ring them see the assessment report scores on the computer screen before the claim has finished being processed.

Just to let you know my son's PIP was unsuccessful. (autistic spectrum, diagnosed when 4 years old). He got just 2 points! We followed the guides and looked up net info on scoring , and I would definitely thought he would have been close to 8 points. I feel really bad now for putting him through the process, lowering his self-esteem, but he needed a little money to help while at uni because he cannot do a lot of the type of part-time jobs that students do to supplement their student loans. He cannot interact well enough to do things like bar work, shop work and also would be too slow with physical jobs. I know PIP is not about not being able to work but he could have done with some PIP money to help him manage financially at uni. When he had his face 2 face, the assessor was being assessed - do you think that would have gone against him?

I would have thought that an assessor being observed would be more careful to ensure that they had done everything properly.

I don't know, bit exhausted by it all now, having done PIP and ESA for myself. It may be worth doing an MR cos that is easyish. I ll ask for the medical assessment report anyway. My son's really disappointed that he only got 2 points. He finds life a real struggle and has no social life and i think he felt that having PIP would makes things feel a bit better/easier
