How do the migraines impact on his being able to complete the PIP activities, unless you can tie the problem to the PIP criteria then it's value is limited.
The use of the Public Transport for PIP is difficult. The DWP guidance refers to it as a requirement however, we regularly see the fact that it is not specified in the PIP Descriptors being used by Decision Makers to deny points.
Lastly, you are going to struggle showing that he meets the "on the majority of days" requirement if the migraines are only at best every fortnight and unlike an epileptic attack you cannot argue that that there is a daily risk associated with the headaches.

My son has not seen a GP for many years, his treatment re migraines has been done by phone and letter. Still I am wondering whether his migraines should come into the claim, they are at worst as often as fortnightly but only last a day. However they are really bad and he cannot see properly for about ten hours. I was worrying about whether in the future he tried using public transport independently how on earth he would cope if a migraine started mid journey. Then I started to wonder whether maybe his migraines are relevant to PIP, do you think they could be relevant to the 'going out' section?

Yes I get what you mean. Autism is such a difficult one to match the descriptors/criteria. My son has a fair few significant problems that simply do not seem to count re the PIP descriptors. I am focusing on the reliability safely, timely, reasonable standard ... now because that seems the only possible way forward. Do you think I should subtly point out if my son cannot do something ,safely for example, and just bring the words 'safe' and 'safely' into my text describing his difficulties?
Or in case they miss it and /or not familiar with the reliability 'rules', would I be better off being straight to the point, and point out the reliability 'rules' and directly say that my son cannot do this activity safely and therefore should gain points under the reliability 'rules'.

Been meaning to ask for a while , on my PIP award the eating drinking part was completely missing on the assesment. Is that strange?

Given some of the reports that members report on getting, probably not, what did the DM say on their statement of reasons which comes with the Decision Letter?

My son is going for an assessment tomorrow. I phoned up today because dwp said to because we had been waiting a long time and not heard anything. Anyway the ATOS (different name now)advisor gave him an appointment for tomorrow and luckily is father has the day off and so can take him. As it is last minute, and we have no letter i just wanted to check what he needs to take. I know he needs ID and prescription info. Is that it do you think?
