I wrote to the DWP requesting they move from the work related category to the support group for at least the next 2 years, for the following reasons! I suffer badly from Depression and anxiety and apart from being prescribed 3 different medications which I take daily, In addition to regular visits to the psychiatrist, I am now undertaking weekly psychotherapy sessions which I am told will last for the next two years.
I also suffer from osteoarthritis in both thumbs currently wearing splints and awaiting operations for both, although they will be done separately.
I have not received any acknowledgement, however within a matter of weeks receive I did receive a work capability for work questionnaire form, which I duly completed and returned by the given date of November 27th 2015. On the final page in the section of Other information I referred to my request of September asking to be moved to the support group for at least a two period! To this date I have not heard anything back from them!
The thought of phoning them to ask fills me with dread, and as I am writing this I feel sick in my stomach just because I'm mentioning my problems, as is often the case with the anxiety problems that I now suffer from and which have been ongoing since 2010 following a breakdown.
Anyway I am just wondering if there is any advice from anyone ?

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

The new ESA50 is likely a response to your asking to be re-assessed.

Your form will be with Maximus to decide whether a face to face assessment is required. You can contact them for an update

www.chdauk.co.uk/contact-us

If you can't call, someone else can do so on your behalf although you will need to be present to answer any security questions and to authorise the call.

I would have a look at our ESA Claim Guides, there are specific criteria that you need to meet in order to be placed in the Support Group.

If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Thank you for that, I would have thought I would have heard about a face to face meeting by now considering it is now march and they asked me for dates I may not be available for face to face for a 3 month period from the end of November! The thought of chasing them up increases my anxiety levels badly! Even the thought of getting someone else to do it for me is daunting!

Hi,

I have today received a letter from the DWP moving me to the support group which is being backdated to September 2015.. Of course I'm relieved and delighted especially as I didn't have to go for a medical assessment! I'm not sure why it has taken so long and I can only assume it's because they were gathering medical evidence from the different Dr's and specialists helping me with my health issues. It doesn't say how long for, am I right in thinking it would be for 3yrs Then reassessed ?
As you know I didn't become a member until a month ago ( wish I had joined earlier) and I have found the help and advise invaluable, especially , as I've just submitted a MR for my pip application, which I have now followed yr invaluable advise and guidance and provided letters and results from specialists and My GP , which is something I didn't do when completing the original application! Had I joined your site sooner then of course I would have done.
The MR deadline is for tomorrow , all evidence was submitted recorded next day delivery last week and all I can do now is wait , keeping my fingers crossed of course. In the meantime I will continue reading the forum and taking comfort from this online support.
Thank you to everyone and especially the moderators for providing this great service.

Congratulations on the ESA award. ESA awards are indefinite with regular reassessment, I'm afraid the only way you will know when they will look at your claim again is to contact the DWP, they date will be on the computer system.

Good luck with the PIP MR, it's not entirely clear whether you have already requested an MR and are sending additional information or whether you are just about to request the MR, if the former, then I would ring the PIP department to let them know that you are posting the additional information, we often see an MR Decision passing the claimants evidence in the DWP internal mail and this may prevent this happening.

Hi Gorden,
I think I've just written in again saying the same thing! I'd forgotten I'd already written in this morning! So sorry.
Yes I've submitted the written MR including all supporting evidence I initially phoned to ask for a MR confirming I would put it in writing. They wrote to me giving me the 17th May as a deadline with a form to highlight further evidence! I posted everything a week ago signed for next day guaranteed delivery , arriving with them a full 7 days before the deadline..
Hopefully this has been sufficient!
