Hi All

Can anyone tell me whether they have successfully got a PIP payment for having a STAR Prosthesis in place and which causes severe and chronic pain at all times?

Thanks

Have a look at our PIP Claim guide fir advice about how to complete the PIP2 claim form and how to explain the limitations that result from your conditions and this STAR device.

Hello everyone

I am new here so please forgive if posted in wrong place. Briefly I applied for PIP on 8 May. I received the form which I filled in and returned with loads of supporting evidence. I was then invited to an assessment which was originally today at 9am this morning, with ATos. On Monday this week I received a phone call asking if I could change to 2:30pm today, of course I agreed as I couldn't bear the thought of having to leave home at 7am this morning to be there for 9am. However, this morning I picked up a voicemail asking if I could attend btw 10:30 and 1pm. So we juggled everything about and got me there for mid-day. It was a surreal experience on lots of levels but the question I have is a) was this too quick and b) when should I expect to receive the dreaded brown envelope? Many thanks.

Hi G,

I wouldn't read anything into the speed of the process, they do seem to be dealing with fresh claims quicker.

I can't really give a definitive answer on how long The DWP PIP Decision Maker (Case Manager) will take to make a decision, but if you have heard nothing with 10 to 14 days you could contact the PIP Helpline for an update.

Fingers crossed for a positive decision !! :)

Please keep us updated.

Does the DWP phone you to tell you the outcome of your PIP assessment, whether successful or not?

Hi G,

There is no hard and fast rule !

Sometimes they do and sometimes you simply receive a Decision Notice letter.

You can phone yourself for an update :
