The story thus far ....
1. I was in a fire at work in 1987, right hand, forearm, neck, ear skin grafted. Problems with grip, skin integrity, dexterity, easily fatigued.
2. Awarded IIDB in 1988 (one year provisional)
3. IIDB Life Award in 1989.
4. Hand (particularly thumb) started to disintegrate alarmingly around 2006/2007, reduced hours at work/reduced income GP and Benefits Advisor encouraged me to apply for increase in IIDB, REA and DLA (I previous had no knowledge of the last two)
5. ATOS 'medical' reduced my IIDB £14.00 a week (3% improvement in my condition apparently) but DWP awarded me REA (then £54.00 a week)
6. Young lady came to house watched me make a cup of tea, a sandwich and asked me to change a fuse .... awarded DLA Lower Rate Personal Care (can't make meal with fresh ingredients) indefinite award.
So as you can see from 1988 to 2008 quite a number of Health Professionals have assessed me, my disability/problems have been recognised and benefits awarded accordingly.
7. April 2015 I had to have Keyhole Surgery on my left shoulder, still in pain, movement restricted, weak.
8. September 2015, complete wrist fusion, partial thumb fusion right hand (as you can imagine on top of my existing issues, it's a mess)
So surely if I was deemed to be 'disabled' before last years woes what am I know?
If I lose my award it will be a travesty surely, but we know it's not that easy.
I appreciate it's all subjective but what are my chances of being transferred to PIP?
Thanks
P

That explains why it's taken me two days to find it, silly me was expecting it to turn up on the front page. Does the site have so much traffic that you need to merge threads? (rhetorical question ... it doesn't)
Also hiding/merging threads like this precludes other members from seeing them and possibly responding based on their experiences!!

That way you can return to this topic easily to pose any further queries that you may have by replying to the topic.
Thanks in anticipation of your future co-operation in keeping all your PIP related queries to this topic !

All three of these comments are verging on being patronising Bro ....
But thanks for the advice/response I'll let you know who things go (won't start a new thread .. promise)

Patronising tone intended.
The reason your topic is on page 4 of the forum and not the front page is because 88 topics have been updated since Bro made a response to your last question. Topics are displayed in date order using the date of the last post made to the topic.
That's one of the reasons why we suggest the members bookmark the page so it's easy to find.
We ask members to keep their posts in one topic as searching around the forum to find what advice has previously been given wastes the Moderators time. If this conflicts with the way that you wish to use the forum, then please feel free to create a new topic each time you have a question, we'll just prioritise your posts to the end of the session to minimise the impact of other members posting
I would remind you that the forum is provided as a curtesy, it is not covered by the subscriptions fee.
