Are they doing away with wrag group completely in april 2017, what do new claiments do after this date do they claim jsa

Hi gm,

No, they are not doing away with the WRAG group after April 2017 !!

From that date, any NEW ESA claimants who are placed into the WRAG will not receive the extra WRA Component addition payment (around £30/week) so they would be paid the same as a normal JSA claimant but still be in The WRAG.

if you remain in wrag before april 2017 ans then you get transferred to uniiversal credit after april 2017 do you still get transitional protection keeping wac of 30 pound a week

There is Transitional Protection for transferees, in addition we would need to see how ESA(IR) claimants being moved to UC are classed, when IB claimants were moved to ESA it was classed as a continued claim e.g. not a new claim. This may require primary legislation!
