ESA medical decision. was created by mavis
Hi,I've just had an ESA medical/assessment recently and was wondering if any member/s could tell me how the DWP inform you of the outcome?

Great and informative site, keep up the good work.

All Decision have to be notified in writing with details of the Decision and when it applies from.

Occasionally the DWP will use other methods such as a phone call in addition to a Decision Letter, but this is done on a case by case basis and does not replace the letter.

Hi,
For my Esa claim I got a letter from dwp, however I had rang up to find out where to send my fit note and was told over the phone. For my pip claim I received a text message first and then the formal letter came in the post a few days later. Hope this helps.

Hi Pauline,

Actually for me I found out kind of two days before I received any letter etc.. (They didn't call .text as I didn't provide my mobile number to them) due to a surprise payment into my bank for past arrears owed and my higher rate payment for WRAG.
Sometimes from what I have read the DWP DM may call you to ask for additional info if its needed or they perhaps disagrees to a point with the ATOS assessor (it does happen so I hear now and again)
Hope the decision goes in your favour ;0)
