IB to ESA INTERVIEW WITH DOCTOR was created by TonyR
I have finally had my interview today for my hopeful transfer from I.B to ESA.
This was meant to take place last year in June but was cancelled almost after the first few questions about my medical conditions, when the H.C P soon realised she was out of her depth.
She excused herself and went away for abut 5 mins then came back and said " I think you should see a doctor', we shall be in touch again.
Well 9 months later I get to see a doctor, and I think it went well ?.
I was in there for about 25 mins in which all her questioning was to try and understand how my various problems had all tied together and left me in my current position of being made to claim this benefit.
She did not ask anything about my personal life except for "do you live alone" and "what type of property is it".
There were no awkward questions like "what is a typical day for you" or "do you have pets" etc.
So is this a good sign ?, I don't know , but it certainly wasn't what I was expecting.
She concluded with saying " you have nothing to worry about, and wished me good luck".
Is this typical or just a fluke.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

It's unfortunate that sites like B&W often portray the benefit system as being fundamentally flawed at all levels, I won't hide the fact that there are serious problems with the way the system operates but the fact is that the majority of claims are handled professionally and the claimant receives the benefit that they are entitled to.
You should hear in 2-3 weeks what the Decision is.

Finally, after 7 weeks since I saw the Doctor, concerning my transfer from I.B to E.S.A, I get this Brown Envelope which now contains a big thick form called a ESA 3.
WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT
There is nothing to say if my transfer was successful or not or indeed what have I now been placed on.
Can someone tell me what I should do next.

An ESA3 form is used to assess your financial situation, this would only be issued if a Decision has been made.
I think you need to contact the DWP to see if this is the case.
My guess is that you have been placed into the ESA Support Group and the ESA3 has been sent as you might be entitled to one or more of the ESA Premiums as a result. These are only paid If in addition to any Contribution Based ESA (equivalent to your current IB) you are also entitled to an Income Related ESA top up.

I do not qualify for additional payments or other financial help so should I just ignore it and wait for my award letter.
