I’ve typed my answers on additional 23 A4 pages! My son has a formal diagnosis of Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD. Apart from a medical evidence, I’ve sent some old school reports (he is home educated now) and a statement from someone who works with him. I believe my responses were very detailed and there isn't much more I can provide them with. It definitely shows that he has more needs than an average 13 yrs old child. How the mandatory reconsideration forms look like and what can I expect at this stage?
Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
The first stage to challenging a Decision is for you to request a Mandatory Reconsideration, this needs to be done in writing to the DWP, within one month of the Decision, to the office that dealt with your son's claim, have a look at our DLA Appeal guide for details of the process and template letters that you can use to make the request with.

You should contact the DWP for a copy of the assessment report if you have not already done so, I would phone them but again follow up the request in writing. Once you have the assessment report you will have a better understanding of how the DWP Decision Maker has come to their conclusions and will then be able to argue against them.
Your primary task is to show that your son meet the criteria, there are many reasons he may have failed, you need to address each of these but don't get bogged down in criticising the assessment report unless you can clearly show that it is incorrect.
When you have a better idea of the issues with your claim, come back to the forum and we will do our best to help. There also a number of documents in the DLA section that may assist you with the MR.

I've looked at many pages on this website but still can't find any template letter for the reconsideration request. I'd be grateful if I could be sent a link (I've found one through Google but it doesn't work).

I'm sorry, I assumed that there was one in the DLA section and there isn't you can use the one in the PIP Appeal submissions, just change the references to PIP to DLA.
