SCHOPENHAUER

do their timewasting activities, unrelated to the claimant, count?

No

I recorded the interview. Do you know if is it legal?

Yes but there may be restrictions on you providing the recording to a third party!

How many interviews should I have in a month?

It's down to your JC+ advisor, there are no minimum or maximum numbers.

Where I can learn what the JC can and cannot do?

They cannot ask you to work or to seek work but they can ask you to perform any activity that prepares you for a return to work that is not at odds with your state limitations, if you feel that they are encroaching on your capabilities then you should discuss this with your advisory and if they are unable to help, their supervisor.

Hi SCHOPENHALIER,

That was an amusing story (I was giggling while reading it) and I admire the way you handled the staff. I've heard of business plans, building plans, back-to-work plans; but the question "do you have a plan?" would certainly have me scratching my head!

It's good that you have the interview recorded so you have evidence to support your complaint.

I would not advise anyone to get up and leave simply because the hour is up, but if you have an appointment that you would be late for if the interview overruns significantly, it's best to explain this and ask if it's OK to leave. Even if you intend to leave with or without permission, it makes sense to see if you can get permission first.

Good luck with your complaint and future interviews,

Derek

Thanks. I am trying to find a pdf where the policies of the JC in relation of the WRAG are clearly explained, do you know where to find it? I tried to google but I did not find it, also because I don't remember how this sort of thing is usually called, it's sort of a 'mission statement', but it's called something different. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I'm not aware of any such document being available I the public domain, there is guidance for Work Program Providers but not for claimants still with the JC+, you could try a Freedom of Information request.

Derek, thanks for the advice about permission, it makes total sense.

And yes the story was amusing :P At least we I got a laugh out of it.. I don't believe in curses, but the Jobcentre I go to, must be cursed. Before this last circus act, I signed on for Jobseekeer Allowance in 2010.

The same year, after applying in person at the Jobcentre, went to my first interview two weeks later, but no one could find any reference to it. It was as if I never applied. So I reapplied, got another appointment, but I was so fed up already that I never signed on for my first payment. I just gave up.

Then in 2014 I applied at the same Jobcentre for ESA, but as my last application was done in person and then 2 weeks later no one found a trace of it, kind of The Matrix, this time I posted the application, through signed special delivery.

You would think, good idea, right?

I got the envelope back after a week with a scribble on it from Royal Mail: 'REFUSED'.

By then I started wondering about a conspiracy

They are THAT bad.

hi, tomorrow is nightmare time (I have an interview) so I need to prepare for the bi-weekly battle.

It is my understanding that if I don't go to the interview, they will ''sanction'' me, i.e. they will detract the WRAG component, about £ 30. But they can't take away the standard ESA payments. Am I correct?

Also, I need to go abroad for up to 4 weeks, but no over. How does it works, do I let them know in writing?

What happens if I will not go to several interviews, other than getting sanctioned? Would the ESA stop completely?

Thanks.
