Starting PIP claim

PIP and ESA are separate benefits so he can claim both at the same time if he qualifies.

However, as a full time student he can only claim ESA if he also in receipt of a PIP Daily Living award, see the following for more details

You can fill out the forms for him, if you use his words then do so in the first person (e.g. "I") if you use your words then it should be in the third person (e.g. "he"), in either case include a brief paragraph to explain how the form(s) were completed. If the former and he can sign then he should, if he can't or you have used third person then you should sign.

Yes this should be OK, he should be there just I case they want confirmation for to talk in his place.
