DLA to PIP was created by Hazel Edwards
The brown envelope dropped through my door and I rang to give the information asked for. It was a 30 minute wait to speak someone.......I was already unnerved.

Now waiting for the form to appear and nervous that I will not fill the form in with enough information to be awarded the pip.

Unsure and having difficulty with working out how to use this group.......any advice would be welcome.

Hi and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explains where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

My full name is showing, how can I stop it?

I am sorry that you are finding the process of applying for PIP so stressful :(

The main aim of Benefits and Work is to provide comprehensive guides for claimants. The forum is provided as an extra for our members. We do not have a 'discussion' forum, as such, but you can ask questions about the claim process here and the moderators will try to help. Members will also give advice and support from their own experience.

We cannot promise that you will be awarded PIP but we will give you the best chance of describing your difficulties in language that DWP will understand.

It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one place. Therefore you might like to bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future.

I suggest you download the PIP guide and familiarise yourself with it even before the forms arrive. That will allow you to get a bit ahead of the process.

PIP help for claimants

You will have 1 month (from the date on the accompanying letter) to get the from back to DWP. A 2 week extension is usually given on request without any problem.

Please reply to this message with any further questions/comments and we will do our best to help :)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
