If no award was made, then you won't receive anything while appearing, if an award was made then it will remain in payment until the Tribunal is held.
Lots of people, the vast majority, win their Appeals without any assistance, since Legal Aid was removed for First Tier Appeals it has become very difficult to actually get help.
