DLA to AA was created by Popcorn79
I'm 67 on the lower DLA and it seems I can't apply for AA which is more money on the lower rate. I don't understand why, the extra money would be such a big help. Is there anyone in the same boat or has been.

There are two issues;

First DLA and AA are mutually exclusive, you cannot claim AA without first closing your DLA claim.

Secondly, you are comparing apples and oranges, the "lower" rate for AA is equivalent to DLA Medium Rate Care and has the same qualification criteria, as you your post does not suggest any deterioration in your condition, it would seem unlikely they you will meet this requirement.
