PIP Assesment rescheduled

After attending with my wife today we were told there would be a 40 minute delay, we reluctantly agreed to wait as the assessment centre is difficult to access. After 40 minutes the receptionist came over to us to tell us that my wife's appointment had to be rescheduled as the supporting letter from her GP had stated that she had suffered from TIA's and could only be assessed by a Doctor, is this correct? I also asked why this had not been arranged prior to my wife attending as this information had been provided in my wife's original application to which she replied that she agreed and that she had made a call about it.

I'm afraid this does happen on occasion. The root of the problem is that the people making the appointments do not see the claim form, or any of the information therein
