PIP and ESA clarifications please was created by MadTom
Hi everyone,
My husband was recently awarded PIP enhanced component and ESA support group thanks to the Guide I purchased from this website.
My husband is 63 y.o. and I am 54 y.o.
His PIP was awarded for the next 2 years, so it finishes when he will reach 65 and will receive pension. I try to understand what it will happen with our financial help when he will retire and I will still be his carer and of working age, the articles I read online are very confusing.

Will he still receive PIP after retirement? Will I still receive Carer Allowance after his retirement?

At the moment we get ESA for a couple. What will I get when he will receive state pension, as I will be 56 yo and I'll still care for him( he got 3 strokes so far)?

Thank you very much!

Your husband will continue to receive PIP after the age of 65 providing that they continue to meet the criteria for an award.

You can continue to claim CA as long as he is receiving a Daily Living award until you yourself reach State Retirement Age, when what you can receive will depend on your circumstances.

Have you checked whether you are both eligible for Pension Credit?
