It's four weeks for ESA and 13 weeks for PIP, obviously the ESA overrides the PIP.
We recommend that the claimant informs the DWP although we do know of members who have not done so and not had any problems. The issues they need to consider are what award they have and if they are likely to be reassessed or are being reassessed at the moment. For example; if they are in the WRAG then notice of a WFI only has to be 7 days and this includes the time in the post.
