Hi, I would really appreciate some advice please. I was previously on DLA for the last 16 years and received higher rate mobility and low rate care. I have now been awarded standard rate for both mobility and care, so my mobility car has to be returned. My PIP award has arrived this week and I cannot get through to DWP despite many attempts of waiting on the phone. I have 2 questions
1. Is there any risk to this current PIP award if I ask for a mandatory reconsideration of the Mobility component? 2. If I ask for a Mandatory reconsideration will Ii still get PIP payments during this time? Many thanks G
Although you can request that only the Mobility component be looked again, the DWP are entitled to review the whole award, it's unlikely that they will take points off of you, but it does happen and I can't offer a guarantee that it won't.
A good place to start would be to consider how likely you are to score the extra points you need for an Enhanced Mobility award.
AS you have an award, it will remain in payment during the MR and any appeal that you might request.
