ESA decision - how long? was created by Helen
Hi,

I have tried to search for the answer to this but it hasn't come up. I wondered how long (or short) the time can be for an ESA decision to be made.

We sent my son's ESA50 form in 10 days ago. He has been in the ESA Support Group for two years and was on incapacity and DLA before that (the transfer to PIP is currently under mandatory review having been refused).

This morning, he received a letter from DWP stating his level of benefit (the same as it has been since April this year) "due to a change in circumstances" and still mentioning ESA Support Group. Does this mean that the decision has been made, or will this have been triggered by something else (perhaps the refusal of PIP?).

Thanks for any help.

It could be a Decision Letter but it could also be the bi-annual entitlement letter which have been sent out very late this year, I'm afraid the only way to know is to contact the DWP on Monday.
