ESA Contribution or IR

Just submitted my telephone claim for ESA, went through the IR based but now think it should have been contribution based (qualify for this) Could this be adjusted later? Also I received a text on my phone to post off the Dr's fitnote. I just can't find any address to post this to, on the internet.. would it be better to take a copy to local jobcentre? Bit stressed after this, any advice much appreciated.

Contributory ESA will always be awarded, rather than income-related, as long as the claimant has paid enough NI.

As far as your sick-note is concerned, you can phone DWP and ask where to send it, or you can take it down to your local JobCentre+. If you decide on the latter course of action, you should phone ahead as some centres will not even allow you through the door without an appointment!
