BENZODIAZEPINE WITHDRAWAL SYNDROME was created by Monera
Hello everyone, I'm new to the site but thank goodness I've found it. I have a question that may already have been covered, but it doesn't come up under the search facility, so apologies if I'm covering old ground. Does anyone know if Maximus (father of a dead etc etc etc) recognizes Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Syndrome ? If they don't then I won't mention it on my ESA claim.
Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is

Welcome to Benefits and Work

All though the conditions you are suffering from are important it is the limitations that result from them that are actually being assessed so if you BWS contributes to your problems with completing the ESA activities or in a more general sense places you at risk of harm, then it should be something that is considered, however, if it is not a factor then it won't.

See the ESA Claim guide for a more detailed understanding of the criteria against which you are being assessed. See

www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/help-for-claimants/esa1

If you have more questions, then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help you.

Hi Monera,

In order to score points in the work capability assessment, your inability to carry out the activity must be as a result of a mental or physical disablement. So as long as the condition is a medically recognised condition, its effects should be taken into consideration.

Good luck,

Derek
