NEW PIP REVIEW FORM was created by Nixon
HI can anyone tell me if they have any information on this new smaller form and if it is a point system that works the same as the original application. This forms asks if functional skills are harder, no change, easier. Has anyone had the result of theirs back yet or am I one of the first people who will have to fill in without any guidelines.

Has anyone had success with this. I felt I should have got the higher mobility rate when I was accessed and have had alot of problems with the DWP and this has caused a worsening of all of my symptoms. I have received alot of help from my consultant , doctor and clinics in supporting information Action for M.E have nothing on it as yet as have this web site.

I'm afraid the form is very new and you are one of the first members to have received it so we do not how the DWP are going to make use of the information that this form captures, also, we have not seen any DWP procedures in regard to the form, so we are limited in the advice we can give..

We expect any notification of a change, better or worse, will result in a PIP2 being issued, although there may be exceptions to this and it is possible that there is a threshold before this will happen.

The new form is not points based, which is why we think a PIP2 will have to be issued if there are changes.

Thank You Gordon,
I have alot of supporting consultant information, clinic , doctors, to send with this form that I have got worse. This is due to non- management as in what I describe below . I have had a absolute nightmare with the DWP and when claiming for ESA they lost all my paperwork and the whole matter is now under investigation with the Independent Case Examiner. I was told I was placed in the support group by letter and then I had to re- submit again, thankfully I was placed in the support group and I have had a letter of apology but now have to wait for the case to be heard. This was going on for over 2 years and I cannot begin to explain what happened. Regarding this new from ,Are you saying that another PIP 2 form may have to be done or this review is enough to get my award again , hopefully at the higher rate this time. It does say that you may not have to attend a new medical if this form . I have enclosed all the reports of what they have done to my illness and letters to them and I pray no more forms have to be done. It is all too much. Can you explain what you mean by a threshold. I have alot of paperwork to send in and hopefully this might mean no lengthy forms again for a while.

How will it work if not points based as I was hoping that I would get the higher rate now as I was only 1 point away from each last time, my consultant and OTS have written lengthy reports on what has happened to me and how my management has been sabotaged by constant letters, phone calls and even lies from the DWP worker which I know will be dealt with, but in the mean time I have to secure my financial situation so I can manage my illness which is Chronic Fatigue. I have been very unwell.

Regards and thank you.

I'm afraid we don't know whether the form is going to be enough for you to retain your claim, until we get hold of the DWP's procedures for this form or other members go through the process and advice we can give is at best a guess, albeit a good one.

We think it reasonable that the majority of those who report no change will receive a new award without further investigation, if this was not the case then there is no point in using the new form in the first place.

Those who report an improvement are almost certainly going to receive a new PIP2 and will likely have an assessment.

The difficulty is those who report a deterioration. Those already receiving the highest rates may avoid further investigation as there is unlikely to be any value in this being done to simply get the same award again.

However, those not on the highest rate have the potential to have their award increased, but that does not mean that actually would. It's possible that the deterioration would not score extra points or that it does not score sufficient points for a higher award and in this case it's possible that the DWP may choose not to investigate further. The more likely it is that a higher award could be made, then I think it the more likely that further information will be requested/

Gordon, I understand its all questions presently for those of us who have these forms but do you have any idea when you will get the DWP procedure. As I have stated functional activities are harder now than when I first claimed, I hope that all the provided medical evidence and I have alot will be enough to get me the award again and the higher rate without the assessment.

We only have the form because a member was kind enough to scan it an email it in. I know that the office have made a Freedom of Information request but it could be weeks or even months until this is responded to.

I would be surprised if we have any significant updates this month.
