Hi to all,

Just a quickie as i'm still waiting to be given a date for my ESA review. I was wondering as I receive PIP enhanced rate for mobility, which gives a point score of 12!

can this award for the mobility's activities/descriptors be used in an ESA assessment, i.e cross referenced ?

Would the ESA assessor deem the DWP'S mobility award as sufficient evidence for the mobility descriptors in the ESA assessment.?

Given the fact that the DWP's decision maker made this decision very recently and its validity is for the next 4 years?

Or would the assessor simply ignore the statement of entitlement made by the DWP for enhanced mobility.?

I was hoping the ESA would use this obviously as a sort of fast track ! as in regards to this activity and its descriptors.

I understand there's a slight difference with ESA and PIP. But they are overlapping right.

Kind regards :)

We have seen PIP results being used for ESA assessments, and vice versa, but it is not guaranteed.

Don't forget the 'imaginary wheelchair' of the ESA mobility descriptor. Even if you cannot walk the distance, the assessor can decide that you would be able to self-propel a wheelchair and you would not score any points. This applies even if you have never had a wheelchair or been advised to use one.

If you hope to score points against the mobility descriptor, you must show how and why you cannot self-propel.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems
