Mandatory Reconsideration Face to face assessment?

My son is in the process of having a MR and he has had a letter from Capita with appointment for a face to face meeting with a health professional. Does say this is to complete your assessment.
I was wondering if anyone else out there has had this happen before getting a decision. I was just expecting to get the letter with decision and preparing to go for appeal.

Welcome to the forum.
In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ
My full name is showing, how can I stop it?
I assume this is for PIP?
If a Decision has been made on his PIP claim then there is no reason for him to have an assessment, I would ring Capita to find out what this is about.
Did he have an assessment before the Decision was made?

Tina wrote: Hi he was already on Pip with an award until 2017 and receiving Enhanced rate daily living and Enhanced rate mobility. I was his carer, he then had a letter to say he would be having a revue this was a year early, and went for his health assessment in March. In May received the decision that was nil for Daily Living and nil for Mobility. He has requested the Mandatory reconsideration with help from me and the advice on this site. It's just that I was surprised that he will have to go through the health assessment again although will be with a different health professional. As far as I know no one has mentioned this on the Forum.
If he currently has no award then there is no requirement for a new assessment to be done. I can only repeat my previous advice, contact Capita and ask what is going on.
