I am in the ESA work group, I was awarded ESA in February and as was told that as I was referred for counselling, along with previous working experience, I was asked not to return for an ESA appointment until early September, However my counselling appointment which had a long waiting list was unfortunately rearranged by the nhs which means it now starts after my esa interview, so my situation is unchnaged. Does this have any impact? I am totally unsure of what to expect in the interview etc as I have not had any contact in this time, thanks.

The first interview is primarily a getting to know you session as the JC+ advisor has little knowledge of you as a claimant, for example; they have no access to your medical information, so you need to make sure that you explain in detail any limitations the would impact on your ability to attend WFIs or to participate in Work Related Activity.

All you can do is ask.
