Pip appeal input needed was created by Hjane
I now have to go to appeal for pip . With intermittent paralysis and loss of speech , I need to justify criteria-- majority of the time of the time as my consultants letters are not sufficient apparently . Also why do they acknowledge I became mute in the assessment due to loss of speech , but don't see I can't communicate at all unless I write things down , lasting 8 hours a time and happening anytime with vestibular problems . What evidence do I need to get ?

Ideally you need evidence the details your speech problems, how often they occur, how long they last for and what triggers them.

Normally we talk to members about their needing to be able to complete an activity when it would normally need to be done, but I think that the DWP may be using this against you, looking back at your posts; you spoke for some of the time during the assessment and you spoke to the DM on the phone, the first was obviously a planned event where as I suspect that the latter was more ad hoc. This will count against you.

Did you / are you looking to score points for other activities?

You need to show that you are affected for 'the majority of time'. Do you feel you have done this? The Decision Maker will have no medical knowledge so you have to spell everything out in words of 1 syllable, you cannot expect them to draw any inferences (or even, in some cases, to use any common sense)!
