I will soon inherit £14000 for my Dads estate. I know I will lose £4 per every £1000 I have.

My question is do I lose 14 * £4.00 or do I only lose 8 * £4.00 as you are allowed £6000 ?

On the assumption that you have no other savings and assets to raise the total above £14,000 the it would be a deduction of 8 x £4 as the first £6000 are disregarded,

If your total assets and savings exceed £16,000 then your ESA(IR) payments will be suspended.
