I was wondering if there is anyone who has been medically retired and have been informed about the change from DLA to PIP. I am a carer and my daughter has been medically retired for 4 years, she is in he mid thirties, and I don't understand why anyone with this has to go through another medical assessment. We all know that the changeover is an exercise in saving money and punishing the disabled for their illnesses. Any feedback is welcome.
I was medically retired, claimed DLA initially and now PIP. I'm afraid the fact that it has been agreed that I will never be able to work again is irrelevant to DWP!
PIP has deliberately been made harder to get than DLA, with the sole intention of reducing the welfare bill. The qualifying criteria are very different and this has caught out claimants who have filled in the PIP form in the same way that they did the one for DLA!
