Hello wonder if you could answer a question what is the law if you are on benefits and you want to play the health lottery or any lottery and you like to have a bet can the dwp stop you doing this and can they access your bank accounts to see what you are doing with the benefit money.
and what would happen if you was lucky enough to win on lottery or with a say a football, horse,or dog bet even if it was a small win or large win
thank you

It's up to you how you spend your money, my understanding is that any income you receive from "gambling" is disregarded but it will be treated as capital if you are receiving an Income Related benefit.
