Return address on envelopes was created by RossaR
Legal question. I get envelopes with the return address of the DWP and the Health and Disabilities Centre as the return address. I feel this compromises my right to confidentiality about my health conditions. Does anyone know our legal position on this. Surely any return address information should be written in a way that does not disclose information about a persons status or their health condition. What can we do?

Nothing. The only people who would be aware of the return address would be your postman who is already under a confidentiality agreement.

I live in a house converted to flats and I'm fortunate to share the mailbox with nice neighbours. However, if one of my neighbours was on benefits and received an ESA50, I would know about it if I picked up the mail that morning because they actually print ESA50 on the back of the envelope!

I'm replying very late on this. Thanks for your responses. Yes, its the living in a block issue. The letters shouldn't indicate the contents I feel. Will let you know if I get anywhere with this.
