Hi All,
Could somebody direct me to a company who supply Disabled Sat Nav's as my current one which does a good job when going on a long and unfamiliar journeys, which also gives me hands free and voice activation. This is because the DWP have given me No points for mobility on my PIP application, saying my current one is a type able people can use (they have no idea what my current sat nav can do) but thy say I should be using a Disabled model ???? Along with this also relating to my Mobility they have allowed No points as I can drive a vehicle which has not been adapted. (again they do not know what car I drive). Maybe it might be advantageous when moving from DLA Motorbility to PIP. and your operate a none adapted car that somebody else drives it for you.
look forward to your replies.
Kim.

Try doing a search for "disability navigation aids".
Are you planning to challenge the Decision?

Hi Gordon,
I am awaiting a date for my tribunal hearing. I have done searches and the only sat nav available for the Disabled is a sat nav that shows where disabled parking is available, it does no more than my current one except for that. I am unable to see how knowing where you can park in disabled Blue Badge areas leads the assessor to give no points for my mobility needs.
I also called Motorbility to enquirer the ratio of adapted mobility cars over vehicle without adaptions that they supplied, whilst they could not give an actual figure, the latter would be the .majority. Therefor, based on that the only way of now qualifying for Motorbility car would be you have an adapted car or you have a third party driver. This can not be fair as mobility issues differ from person to person.
