Change in medical circumstances was created by Suziblu
Hi
I am new to the website so please excuse me if I am repeating something that has already been discussed.
I am currently on the lower rate PIP, and recently my medical conditions have changed, so I thought I had to update PIP. I called them up and advised them that I needed to update my information, but I came away with the impression that this will mean my current PIP will be reassessed, and I am really worried that my original clam could be cancelled
When I was originally awarded my lower rate PIP I wanted to appeal, but was told that if you appealed against a decision there was a danger of losing the award, so got frightened off of appealing.
Any help you can offer please folks
Many Thanks

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Suziblu and Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
Notifying DWP of a 'change in circumstances' will usually result in a full reassessment of your claim. I suggest that you start reading through our PIP guide so that you will be prepared if the PIP2 form does arrive. You could also think about what evidence you could provide to support your claim.
PIP help for claimants
May I suggest that you bookmark/favourite this on your web browser now so that you can find it easily in future? This will allow you to return along the way with further questions or comments about your PIP without having to start a new topic each time. It helps us enormously when everything relating to the same claim is kept in one topic - and I hope you will find it useful too

If now do not have the decision and evidence that backed up your current PIP award request the DWP send you the information using the Subject Access Request form that can be found here
www.gov.uk/government/publications/dwp-r...personal-information
You can then refer to this to show how your disability has worsened.
If you transferred from DLA request the same information for your last DLA assessment.
It may not arrive in time for the PIP2
but hopefully will be useful if you need an Mandatory Reconsideration or Appeal
bill
