do i or don't I - NEW DIAGNOSIS FOR MYSELF was created by lisalisa
Please can someone advise me, I have now been diagnosed with fybromyalgia by the rheumatology Dr at the hospital, my review for my dla is due next November (2017) I have lower rate mobility & lower rate care, my existing illnesses are chronic degenerative disc disease in my lower spine L1 & L2 constant sciatica, cervical spondylitus, golfers/tennis elbow both arms, asthma & depression.
My mobility is really bad and i need more care at home etc, I do not want to risk as I have read that I could lose my allowance totally so any advice as this is making me so upset & don't know what to do... should I just wait for my renewal next year I also receive ESA support group and I have a blue badge awarded from my local council which I have had now for 4 yrs ..
Please please help me
thank you
Lisa

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

If you report a Change of Circumstances the you will be invited to claim PIP.
PIP has been designed to be more difficult to be awarded than DLA and this is particularly the case for Mobility where the walking distance for an Enhanced award has been reduced from DLA's 50m to only 20m.
Have a look at the PIP Claim guide for the assessment criteria. If you feel that yo meet these then it also explain how to make a claim.

to be honest i felt i was always due the higher rate mobility side as i can/could not walk more that the distance they state but i was so relieve i just left it .
I will be due to claim pip from november next year anyway just thought if any one had a bit of advice to see if i should or shouldn't as I cant deal with any more added stress at this moment in time.
thank you
