Permitted work. Forced? was created by kelly369
I am also awaiting a mandatory reconsideration, and if unsuccessful will take it to a tribunal. I was in the support group but even though my disabilities have not changed I have been put in the wrag group.
I have received a letter from the job centre asking me to attend a "meeting with a WORK Coach'.
The work coach will "Tell you steps that you MUST
take to prepare you for work in the future". Can you explain the "steps I Must take", and if I refuse will I be sanctioned. I suffer from mental health problems, one being agoraphobia, and rarely leave the house, only going out for doctor's appointments etc,if my hubby is with me. My husband works full time so it will not be possible for him to get time off. I am terrified of being forced to do something that I can't do e.g attend somewhere myself , sit with a group of people (suffer from social anxiety).

I have moved your post to it's own topic, we ask members not to post their questions in other member's topics, it's not fair on the original poster and it can lead to the wrong advice being given or taken.
I am afraid there is no clear definition of what you might be asked to do, if you have a look at page 22 of the latest ESA and UC Claims for Mental Health and Learning Difficulties there is a list of Work Related Activity that you might be asked to do.
You can only be sanctioned if you fail to participate in a mandatory activity. Mandatory activities must be notified to you in writing. Have a look at the Ways to prevent and overturn ESA sanctions geode for more information.
The bottom line if you feel that you are being asked to carry out activities the contravene the limitations that placed you in the WRAG in the first place is to discuss this with your JC+ advisor.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.
