DLA evidence update:
Phoned DWP again on 6th of December - was told that my evidence had been requested on the 24th of November (which contradicts what I was told during my last phone call.)
It's now the 8th of December and the post has been - still no DLA evidence.
So I've sent a complaint letter in to the DWP. Not sure there's any point, they're running a sub-standard admin system and there's no will to make the DWP actually work well.

Assessment update:
So, had my assessment at Vauxhall centre this morning. The assessment centre was level access, but the waiting room didn't really have any room to wait in a wheelchair, so I sat facing the bank of seats.
The assessor was pleasant, asked clear questions - was essentially going through the same criteria as the form, in pretty much the same order as the form. I answered as fully as I could, and she typed a lot. Hopefully her report will be fair.
When it came to the physical exam, she was clear about not doing anything that hurt, and only did a few basic arm & leg strength tests (as in, extremely basic, and barely offering any resistance to either my arms or legs.)
She said it'll be 4-8 weeks until *something* - but I can't remember if that was for the report to be submitted to the DWP, or for a decision from the DWP.

Hi c-o,
Thanks for the update. I would expect it to be 4-8 weeks until you get the decision letter.

Update!
Had my result through - less than 4 weeks after my medical.
They've awarded me standard rate care, and enhanced rate mobility, which is how I would score myself. That lasts until December 2020, so I've got a few years before it all starts again!
Thanks for your help & advice - it helped my head not explode from stress.
