When you re-apply for PIP is it always sent to CAPITA or can DWP just award it without it going to CAPITA?

Hi JF,

PIP claims will always go to an Assessment Provider (ATOS or Capita depending on the claimant's postcode). DWP Decision Makers have no medical training/background.

I don't know whether this still applies to claimants who are terminally ill and submit a form under special rules relating to this.

Even Special Rules applications go to the Assessment Provider, albeit with a priority, even a DS1500 is not accepted without it being reviewed.
