I have just found out I have not had a Christmas bonus for many years. I thought they had stopped them. Not had one for about ten years I think. I have been on ESA and DLA and now PIP. I claim for me and my husband. He gets PIP himself and also gets no Christmas bonus. I have had such terrible experiences with DWP who have made my life a misery I dread making contact with them. A couple of years ago they stopped paying me at Christmas. I didn't realise as I was ill and not checking my bank account and only found out two weeks later was overdrawn. Since then scared to look at bank account in case they haven't paid me and scared to ring DWP. I finally plucked up courage to ring. They admitted they haven't paid it this year or last year but tried to blame me for not saying something sooner. Is there anyway to get it back. I asked to speak to a manager but they said 'no point' as records will have been archived going back to DLA.

Call back and ask to speak to a manager again and don't take no for an answer, it is completely irrelevant whether you should have contacted them earlier or not and even if your records have been archived this does not prevent them from determining if you have been paid or not, the person you spoke to seemed to have no problem finding out that you had not been paid this year or last.
