If my husband is called for a face2face - PIP assessment can I ask the provider to pay for a taxi and a return journey, as under ‘Under reasonable adjustments EA 2010’, or can the provder refuse point blank?
We dont have a car and due to my husbands disabilities, he could not travel via public transport - anyway there isnt much of a service here.
And if they are made aware of somebodys disabilties in advance, do they have to provide disabled toilet (due to high incontinence) and wheelchair access?
You can ask but they are not obliged to authorise one, you will stand a better chance if you can provide a GP letter explaining why he cannot travel on Public Transport, you could also push for a home assessment if your GP will explain why he cannot attend at their offices.
