PIP Assessment and Bus Pass was created by snowbird
My sister is going through the DLA to PIP process.

She suffers from Arthritis and Asthma and uses elbow crutches to aid her mobility,
once a week she meets our sisters in the Town Centre for a 'chinwag' and lunch
at a Cafe/Restraunt.

Her Bus stop is at the bottom of her front garden (about 5 metres),
the Town Centre Bus stop is about 10 to 15 metres from Cafe/Restraunt,
she travels to and from the Town Centre with her daughter.

Will using a Bus Pass severely affect her claim for PIP ?

Thank You.

I can't see any reason why a buss pass would have any effect on her PIP claim but her going our regularly will if she is hoping for a Mobility award.

Thanks for your reply Gordon.

She only goes out once a week using her Bus pass,
it's less than a mile from her house to the Town Centre.

If the Bus Pass was awarded for DLA mobility a PIP award without the mobility element may mean that your Sister will need to advise Local priovider of the pass but may still be entitled after a medical assessment by the Bus Pass provider.

If this scenario is the case an award of a Disabled Bus pass following assessment will provide some eviodence of Mobility needs for any Appeal.

If the Bus Pass is a Pensionwer one there ino neeed to do anything.

Much appreciated Bill24chev,

Thank you for your kind replies, it's a very stressful time
for my sister, as she lost her husband to cancer last year.

I will keep you posted on the outcome of this process.

Best wishes to other claimant's for their PIP claim.
