PIP Award review form success was created by Alex
Hello,
My PIP review form which I sent off only over a week ago has been assessed. I had a telephone call yesterday and I was in hospital and they said oh so you managed to get to hospital? I said my Dad took me and she wanted to talk about mobility as I've only ever had daily living enhanced. She said ok, would you most of the time not go out and I said hardly ever, definitely most of the time and if I did, it would be with someone. She said thanks for my time and she would make her decision later that day.
I phoned up PIP team today and they have decided to go from a 2 year award daily living enhanced to a 4 year award daily living enhanced and mobility standard.
I am over the moon- no face to face and the whole process couldn't have been easier.
BIG TIP: Do write as much as possible like benefitsandwork.co.uk say to on the Award review form and send as many letters as possible, she said with all that evidence it was very obvious I needed help.
Awesome!
Quick question though: The changes to mobility haven't come in yet and I really think I'm now entitled to enhanced mobility due to never going out unless urgent and then my Dad takes me. Like hospital etc. Is there any point in challenging this or not? I don't want the mobility to taken away all together and if the review took place after the changes to PIP mobility came into place, would the new descriptors apply to me?
Thanks in advance!

Congratulations on the award. Well done.
If your issues are with going out then the changes to the Descriptors do not affect you as you are assessing yourself as meeting Descriptor (e) which scores 10 points. You won't meet the requirements for an Enhanced award unless you can also show that you have problems with walking.

Thank you. I'm very happy then. Thanks for all your help and the guides.
Luckily for me, when the evidence is there and you have letters from medical director etc. it would be a waste of time to say no.
