ESA Medical Assessment coming up - Help was created by Paperman
Hi
I am new here and hope somebody can give me advice.
I am going to my first Esa Medical Assessment in two weeks, (previously i was awarded ESA without the Medical Assessment In 2015 and placed into the Support Group)
This time I have not been so successful and I have also been declined a assessment in my home.
I would like somebody to go with me to the Assessment as this would make me feel safer and less anxious but unfortunately I live alone and know virtually no one and i don't go out.
Ideally I would like to take my NHS Diabetic Nurse because she knows all my health conditions, but i am pretty sure this kind of help is unavailable!
The Assessment place is about 2 miles away from where i live and will get a taxi there but I cannot handle going on my own, no matter how close the place is.
Would be very grateful for any advice.
Cheers!
Main Conditions:
Scheuermann's Disease, (Spondylitic T7-T10)
Type 1 Diabetes (with Hypo-Unawareness)
Tachycardia.

Welcome to the forum, you might want to have a look at the following FAQ which explain where everything is
Welcome to Benefits and Work
You have two options; try again for a home assessment or try and find someone to go with you.
For a home assessment you will need a letter from your GP explaining why you cannot attend If you have not already provided this then that may be why your initial request has been refused.
As to finding someone to go with you.
Start by doing an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county. I would not expect anybody to be available to go with you but they may be able to put you in touch with someone who can.
Next try any charities that support your conditions, they may have a local group that can help.
Lastly check with your GP practice they should have a list of voluntary organisations in your area, it's possible that they can help.
If you have further questions then please reply to this post and we will do our best to help.

Thanks Gordon,
I will try again with my GP and in the mean time - If anybody here knows of a group or charity that may help me find somebody to go with me in the Hull area (east riding of yorkshire) I would be most grateful.
Cheers
