my partner and myself have been asked for work related interview we both receive dla and pip higher care we have to go on Wednesday or are we exempt

Interviews of this type are related to benefits such as ESA and Income Support, as neither DLA or PIP are not classed as an out of work benefit and there are sanctions that can be applied to DLA and PIP for not attending.
I would contact them and ask what it is about.

When I phoned was told we need to be seen at least once we have been on income support then esa for more than 20 years

if you are in esa support group do I still have to go for preparing for work in the future

If you have received individual requests, then your partner may need to attend as it is a requirement of your receiving ESA that they regularly attend WFIs (maybe every three years).
As to you, I assume that you are the ESA claimant, see the following

HI Gordon I never read the letter correct it was my partner that had to go in and out in 20min worry over she said to my partner you will not be looking for work then as I said he is disabled it was to to put a face to the name and never been before thank you GORDON
