Hi Gordon and all mods, any help would be very much appreciated.
Regarding a parent claiming DLA for their disabled child: Does it matter whether or not the parent (person getting the DLA payments) is living with the child?
Currently, parent and child live together - straightforward. Situation might change where the parent might move out but still carry on being the same dedicated parent to the child but from a different address to that of the child.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the person or parent actually getting the DLA payments must live with the child?
Just to add - the DLA monies will still be used entirely for the child whatever the parent living arrangements.
I don't think that it is impossible but there would have to be good reason for it to continue to be paid to the parent not living with the child, it would be the same issue for Child Benefit, they are both paid for the benefit of the child and would normally be paid to the person with custody.
