Is it possible to ask for a change of assessment location for PIP?
My friend who lives in London has received a letter asking her to attend a 9am PIP face to face assessment in an out of London Atos centre which is an excessively long way from where she lives and extremely difficult to get to. She has considerable mobility issues and will not be able to get there on public transport. A taxi to this very distant location would cost a fortune.
She tells me she was previously assessed in the Maryelbone, London centre. Can she ask for an assessment in this more local centre again, or must she take the time and place offered?

They can, they need to do it on the phone to ensure that they get an acceptable appointment and they can only do this once, so they must attend the new appointment or risk having their claim closed.
