Hi, I have a date for my PIP Court Appeal yet wonder if it's best to attend?
I have medical evidence of all my disabilities dating back to the 1990s, tons of paperwork from the various hospitals etc but to look at me I don't look my age and look quite well, I keep my appearance to a high standard, I was brought up to be clean and tidy and to see me I look quite well. I am afraid the panel will judge a book by its cover and dismiss all the evidence in front of them when they take a look at me face-to-face. Any ideas to what to do for the best? Thank you.
This is a decision that only you can make, there will be assumptions made about your capabilities but it depends on your conditions and how they effect you on a daily basis, whether this will have an impact.
Whilst you can't really apply statistics to a single claim, I can tell you that the success rate for a hearing you attend is much higher than for one that you don't.
