Hi, on my DLA to PIP assessment I was only awarded standard rate mobility, and therefore have lost my mobility vehicle. I have appealed but I had to purchase a vehicle otherwise I would have completely lost my freedom. So with the £2000 support money from mobility I purchased a car.
Silly me thought that I would at least be able to only need pay the reduced rate vehicle tax as I would be receiving the standard mobility rate. How wrong was I, you can only have the reduction if you are under 64 (I'm 66)! Why should this be? Surely they must realise that there are plenty of drivers over 64. Really unfair.
