Atos won't provide home visit (PIP)

I received a letter to attend a PIP assessment and contacted Atos to request a home visit. After a few days of their computer systems being down, I eventually managed to speak to them. I was told unless I am totally housebound then I will not be eligible for a home visit. Is this a recent development as I know of quite a few people that have had home visits? I am very stressed as it is and know that like with my ESA I will have to go through the mill and do a mandatory reconsideration and tribunal appeal despite documented proof from medical experts.

I contacted my GP and he refused to provide me with a letter suggesting a home visit from Atos. I am lost now, considering ringing Maudsley Hospital to see if they can help, but no idea how to go about that.

Called Atos to rearrange date for pip assessment so I can bring my mum with me and they said it cannot be done and I would have to be referred back to DWP which would affect my dla. Just a wonderful day really coupled with being kept up all night until 8am by partying neighbour from hell!
