Two things.
Both of you should report the matter to the police as you have (I assume) the car registration number they can find out who these people are.
Secondly, get face to face advice, do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.
It's possible that they are actually investigating your carer rather than you, but this will put you back in control of what is going on.

I can't comment about your carer, I'm just pointing out that it might not be you

If you are being investigated by the DWP then it will be in connection with your benefits and either your entitlement of your personal circumstances, we can provide limited support on the forum for these issues which is why I am suggesting you get additional support in place now.

This is about getting access to a trained advisor if you need it, most agencies operate a triage system, where less trained staff deal with the majority of claimants, you will need to get past these to see the people that you will actually need to speak to..
Just explain what is going on, you believe that you may be being investigated by the DWP and you need help if this proves to be the case.
