I am on pips enhanced and only got it thru appeal a yr ago but I'm also on ESA but. They want to assess me for ESA and wanted me to go 18 miles to get passed after repeating refusals to go they have now arrange a home assessment by one of there doctors yet I'm still under the doctor and cannot get about I'm also one year from retirement can I refuse to see some assessor and if not can I have SME one with me when he calls and record it in case I have to appeal

If you refuse to participate in the assessment then your file will be returned to the DWP and you claim will be closed unless you can provide Good Cause why you refused and it is accepted by the DWP.
You are perfectly entitle to have someone with you during the assessment.
If you want to record it then you have two options;
- ask Maximus to record it - do it your self.
In either case you need to contact Maximus for permission.
If you do the recording yourself then you must be able to make two simultaneous recordings direct to tape or CD. You cannot make a digital recording.
