Hi Holdingout, I would say anyone other than a moderator commenting on your "urgent request" could give you seriously misleading information. The moderators on this site are very knowledgeable and always do their best to give correct advise or otherwise may direct you to seek it elsewhere. Hope you get the help you need. Brens

Another question since yesterday, like already said my husband managed to change is DLA of 2o plus years into full PIP 8 months ago, and carried on doing a few hours a week from home self employed, new question is, and i ask because of all the hassles we people get with the tests..........
His Dr as decided to sign him off for good, we now need to decide between me is wife going for income support being his full time carer, or him claiming ESA, we worry taht when he makes a claim for ESA that DWP will then use that to say its a change and ask us to come to another face to face for pip, we won pip for the next 10 years and beyond, what would anyone suggest or think we should do, because we need to go one way or the other quick or we cant live.

Perhaps the first question to ask yourselves is whether your husband would qualify for ESA, being unable to work does not mean that he will meet the criteria for an award. Have a look at our ESA Claim guides for information on the criteria he will need to meet.
Applying for ESA would have no effect on his PIP claim and we have not seen an adverse ESA Decision impact on a PIP award, the criteria for the two benefits are quite different even where there appears to be crossovers.
Try putting your financial information in to one of the online benefit calculators, this will give you a better understanding of your financial options.
